Movie Review: The Strangers
June 7, 2008

So, I saw The Strangers last weekend…it was actually scarier then I thought it would be. Its about a troupe of three traveling serial killers who terrorize a couple who is alone in a cabin in the isolated woods of Northern California. While it was a tad repetitive, the only complaint I have is the idiot who sat in front of me during the film. But, one asshole didn’t ruin the movie. It posted more then its share of decent scares, and even a few scenes I didn’t see coming.
The movie slowly grows more and more intense, with one of the killers showing up on the doorstep asking for “Tamara”. Then, a masked man shows up at the window, staring straight inside…then the phones go dead, and all hell breaks loose. There are three masked killers, each creepy in their own way. And they’re all armed with blunt objects. The killers enjoy a sick fascination in tormenting their victims, keeping them alive when they have chances to kill them only so that they can torture them further. THis movie was one of the scarier ones I’ve seen in a while, which was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t really connect with any of the actors, but they still did a decent job. The musical score was creepy, which I guess would be theĀ point. Not much else to say-if you’re looking for a quick and fun scare, see this movie.
